Exam Format: Several
students have asked me about how this module is to be
examined. As the module descriptor says, there is no
continuous assessment, and the module is examined by a
single, 2-hour examination. The format of this
examination is that it will consist of 5 questions, and
you will be required to answer ANY THREE of these
questions. All questions will carry equal marks and each
of the five questions on the paper will ask something
about ONE of the 12 topics in the course. None of the 12
topics will be repeated twice. Each question will be
general, and broad, and will ask you to write an essey on
something like the following:
"Describe how the contents
of the WWW can be a useful aid to translating
information from one language to another"
"Describe how object-based
compression of digital video would work and
outline what object-based compression of video
would be useful for"
