Part Time - Career Development Option

The European MSc in Business Informatics is also delivered on a part-time basis, involving four semesters of studying (plus pacticum). The part-time programme has exactly the same content and share classes with the full-time programme, except that it is studied over two years.

Please note: The part-time course is not an evening course. Classes for the part time option are scheduled on two to three days per week (Lectures are typically during daytime in the afternoon). As classes are during typical working hours, students are advise to discuss this programme with their employer. Part-time students need to arange a flexible working schedule with their employer. The practicum is typically completed in year 2 of studying, and should be undertaken in another European country (special cases can be considered).

Remote Learning Backup: Part-time students on the European MSc in Business Informatics can benefit from our remote learning backup facility. This facilitates students, who are unable to attend occasionally an on-campus lecture, to study the material offline.

The remote learning backup was designed to enable professionals working in industry to participate in the unique MBI programme, by learning and communicating with lecturers and fellow students online. However, it is not a full distance learning programme; but we provide a flexible system of educational delivery and support, specifically tailored to help professionals working in industry to participate in this programme.

More Details...

The part time option for the European MSc in Business Informatics is ideal for applicants, who need this Master Programme to boost their career chances with their current employers. The part time schedule allows applicants to propose a career development plan to their current employer (e.g. the practicum conducted in another European country offers many opportunities). See also our Practitioner-Academia Learning Partnership

If students -for some reasons- do not wish to complete the practicum, they can complete the programme with a Graduate Diploma in Business Informatics. Instead of the practicum, they will be required to complete an extended research essay, to qualify for the Graduate Diploma in Business Informatics.

Guest Speakers and Lectures from Europe makes the curriculum truly European

With a series of invited guest speakers and lectures from Europe, participants have a chance to hear lectures that tie into topics being discussed in the program. Dublin City University and partnering institutions arrange and invite lectures throughout the year. Guest speakers tend to be experts from both Irish and large, multinational companies in various sectors. The guest talks are followed by question and answer periods. Informal receptions and workshops at Dublin City University give participants the chance to exchange ideas and build a valuable contact network.

We are constantly revising and improving our curriculum and program as we incorporate feedback from students, employers, faculty, staff and partnering institutions and organisations.
