POSTGRADUATE STUDY IN THE SCHOOL OF COMPUTING
There's a recession on - what's the situation with jobs for computing graduates?
One can never predict what the situation will be like when you graduate in one or
two years time, but all indicators point to there being a glut of jobs for computing
graduates. See here: http://www.computing.dcu.ie/prospective/prospects/ for details
on jobs in computing - this is up-dated regularly with new jobs that have become available
for people with high-level computing skills..
I'm thinking of doing the conversion course (Grad Dip in IT) - will I be well
suited to studying computing?
If you are technically minded, a good problem solver, have a logical mind and have
an interest in computers (other than just for Facebook!) then computing may be the way
to go for you.
I'm thinking of doing the conversion course (Grad Dip in IT) - do I need to know
anything about computing beforehand?
You'll be glad to know you don't have to have ANY prior knowledge of computing -
we teach you everything you need to know! (well, it might help if you know how to use
a mouse but if you don't we'll teach you that too!)
Who are the Chairs of the Programmes?
See the People page for a list of Programme Chairs.
How do I contact the Chair of the Programme?
If you wish to contact a Chair, please email and if the query can't be dealt with it will be passed on to the Chair.
If you wish to set up an appointment please do so by email. It is not advised to just
turn up without an appointment as they have a prior appointment and may not be available
to meet with you.
What are the times for part-time structures?
It depends on the programme! Email for details on part-time structures.
