The International Conference on Information Quality (ICIQ) has announced The Donald Ballou and Harald Pazer DQ/IQ Dissertation Award. The Ballou/Pazer DQ/IQ Award will be awarded for a dissertation on data and/or information quality that has been completed within the two calendar years prior to the ICIQ, November 7 ¨C 8, 2009. The award will recognize the dissertation that demonstrates the most significant contribution to the information quality field. The winner of this award receives a framed certificate, a $1000 prize and the respect of the entire information quality community.

Submission Requirements:
1. The author must submit concrete evidence that the dissertation has been completely approved by his/her Dissertation Committee and the University¡¯s (or College) Graduate Office. Preferably this will include direct mailings from the Dissertation Committee Chair and from the relevant Graduate Office. These are due on July 06, 2009. The originator should send the evidence documents in their office stationary to:

2. The author must submit his/her dissertation to Dr. Markus Helfert at markus.helfert@computing.dcu.ie for loading on to the IQ Dissertation web site (www.iq-dissertations.net) by July 06, 2009.
3. The author must submit an electronic executive summary of up to 5 pages to Dr. Rolf Wigand at rtwigand@ualr.edu, Dr. Markus Helfert at markus.helfert@computing.dcu.ie and Dr. Andy Koronios at Andy.Koronios@unisa.edu.au, respectively. Topics covered must include short statements for each of these areas with a reference to where these topics appear within the dissertation.
