March 2001: ACL4 projects will be sponsored by TRADOS in 2001

We are very pleased to be able to announce that the ACL4 projects will be sponsored by TRADOS in 2001. TRADOS is the global leader in translation technology, and is the dominant choice among professional translators, enterprise solutions providers and global leaders. This maintains the close rapport between TRADOS and the ACL degree, whose students have been exposed to TRADOS translation software for many years now.

Furthermore, Katharina Magee of TRADOS Ireland recently gave two lectures to ACL4 students as part of the final year option in Machine Translation taught by Andy Way, the first on the TRADOS alignment program, and the second on the TRADOS Translator's Workbench.

Finally, there are a number of ACL graduates working for TRADOS in various locations across the globe. We look forward to the presence of TRADOS at the 4th year project Open Day on June 7th 2001, where the developers of the best three ACL4 projects will receive their prizes.
