BioData Analysis (CA 534)
Course Description
The main goal of this course is to present standard statistical techniques for analyzing data from the life sciences. Topics include: descriptive statistics, concepts of basic probability and conditional probability, Bayes theorem, binomial, poisson and normal probability distributions, estimation and hypothesis testing, ANOVA, correlation and linear regression, Maximum Likelihood and Bayesin estimation and non-parametric methods.
The Breakdown of the Marks
- 60% goes to the final Exam
- 40% goes to the continuous Assessment.
- 15% for the first Assignment.
- 15% for the second Assignment.
- 5% for the first report.
- 5% for the second report.

- The DEADLINE for the first report is Friday 1st December.
- The DEADLINE for the second report is Friday 8th December.
