Here are the first round problems. Please email solutions to cdaly@computing.dcu.ie by the 1st Mar.
Do I need to solve all the tasks? No, just complete as many as you can.
What programming language should I use? We recommend C or C++, as these languages are used in the final round. However, in the 1st round we will also accept BASIC, Pascal, Java or Python.
What happens after the deadline? You will be emailed to let you know if you have qualified for the final round of the contest (so make sure your email address is correct).
How many people are selected for the Irish programming team after the final round? Four people will be selected to travel (all-expenses-paid) to Thailand in the Summer of 2011. The final round results determine a panel of contestants (of at most 8 people), from which the team is chosen.
