The course specification on the Computer Applications website. The Course is divided into in 5 Chapters, the overheads are available in pdf format here:
In addition to the notes, I will refer to a web links page which is constantly being modified. Here's the planned course schedule for weeks 1-12 of semester 2..
- Recommeded Reading - There are a number of books which would make for very useful reading. You should also find these in the library. Inaddition there is a supplementary reading list.
- Project - The project is worth 30% of your marks and the exam is worth the remaining 70%. The project will be completed in groups of two. Project details are here. Marks will be awarded for content (ie. analysis, discussion, background reading, etc...), with presentation being a secondary consideration. When answering section 1, you do not have to describe an actual real-world organisation, however, I suggest that when aswering this question that you keep the requirements of subsequent sections in mind and model your answer to aid the subsequent sections. For example, you will probably not describe the organisation in section 1 of already having an E-commerce presence. So your answer for certain sections will require some forward thinking about how you will answer subsequent sections. This project is due on the 26th April. You must complete and pass the continuous assessment part of this module, in order to pass the entire module. As a matter of policy on the module, a penalty will be deducted from all projects not submitted within the given time period. When submitting projects you must use the new barcode system. - NEWS -
