When is the project due?
The project due date is still the 11th December 2009, but I will not penalise any submissions up until the 18th December. Note that there will be a project 3 due about the 18th as well.
Group or single projects?
The project may be done in groups of two, or as a single person project. Group projects are preferable. There is no different requirements for the project if it is done as a one person project.
Divs and tables?
The project states that you need to use divs for layout. It is acceptable to use both divs and tables for layout. We assume that you will demonstrate the use of the div tag.
What is project 3?
This has been mentioned in class already and the project documentation will be uploaded by this weekend.
What is suitable content?
Most content will be acceptable, once it does not offend. The project specification states that the project should be of a homepage style, but this homepage can be for any content, not necessarily about yourself. If you are in and doubt, contact me and ask me.
What tools are acceptable?
Any graphical HTML editor is ok for the photo album section. Any text-based HTML editor is acceptable for the handwritten HTML sections. The use of a photo management tool to create the X/HTML for the photo album section is not ok! We are expecting you to utilise the software and construct this section yourself.
How many pages does the photo album section count as?
One. Even if it takes more pages than one, it still counts as one of the deliverable pages.
What about the report?
You do need to write one, as per the project specification. Hyowon Lee has discussed this in the lectures. If there are any questions conerning it, please contact Dr. Lee.
Where to host the website?
On your DCU account is expected, but on a domain you have bought for this purpose is ok as well.
Can I use templates?
Ideally you do it from scratch, but a template to help with the look and feel would be fine, once you let me know to look out for it when I am marking the project and show that you have written sufficient X/HTML to meet the project requirements.
When is the exam?
I don't know yet either...
