Basic plots stem and leaf diagrams. Histograms and their interpretations

 

Weeks 2-3: Sampling Distributions.

Basic Sampling methods.

Sampling Distributions of the mean

Introduction to the idea of the Central Limit Theorem.

 

Weeks: 4-6: Estimation:                               

Confidence intervals for means,  proportions and variances.

t-distribution. Central limit theorem,  Sample size determination.

 

Weeks: 7-8: Tests of Hypothesis:

Hypothesis tests for means and proportions. Differences of means and proportions. Paired Comparisons. Type 1 and Type 2 errors. Power of test and p-value.

 

Weeks 9-10 Chi-Squared Tests

Cross-tabulation and contingency tables. Tests of fit.

 

Weeks 11-12: Association, Correlation & Regression.

Correlation coefficients. Linear Regression.
