Postdoctural Researcher

Centre For Digital Video Processing,
Dublin City University, Dublin, Ireland.

I am currently a postdoctural researcher in the Centre for Digital Video Processing (CDVP) in the School of Computing at Dublin City University. I completed my Ph.D. titled "Discrete Language Models for Video Retrieval" under the supervision of Alan Smeaton in September 2005 also at the CDVP. I have researched different aspects of video retrieval since 1999. In my early research I was involved in developing many of the Físchlár video retrieval systems and our TRECVid video retrieval systems though not the current DCU-CDVP TRECVid 2005 work. My interests outside of academia are swimming, cinema, travelling, reading predominantly science fiction and learning Mandarin.
