B.Sc. in Computer Applications – Year 4

Software Engineering and Information Systems Streams

        Note about Registration:

In fourth year, you must register for the Project (15 credits) and for nine other 5-credit modules -

five in Semester 1 and four in Semester 2

The modules are organised into groups as follows:

For Software Engineering there are four groups as follows:

Project (15 credits)

Compulsory modules (15 credits)

Semester 1 Optional modules (15 credits)

Semester 2 Optional modules (15 credits)

For Information Systems there are three groups as follows:

Project (15 credits)

Semester 1 Modules (25 credits)

Semester 2 Modules (20 credits)

The classification of the degree awarded is based on the marks achieved in the fourth year modules.  A mark will be calculated for each group of modules, by averaging the individual module marks in the group.  Within any group, it is not required to pass each module individually;  you are just required to achieve a pass mark for the group as a whole.  The degree classification awarded will be based on the average of these group marks, weighted by the number of credits in the group.
