Curriculum Vitae
William G. Tuohey B.Sc. (1975), M.Sc. (Math. Science) (1978), Ph.D.
(Math. Physics) (1983)
Overview:
Since October 2000 I have been a Lecturer in the School of Computing at
Dublin City University (DCU). Before that most of my career was in industry,
with occasional spells lecturing on Applied Mathematics at University College
Cork (UCC). Highlights were, as an employee of CAPTEC Ltd (Dublin), technical
and managerial responsibilities on 4 European Space Agency scientific missions
(on-board control software development for the ISO, SOHO and XMM missions;
in-flight payload calibration for the astrometric HIPPARCOS satellite). In
civil aviation, I have managed, for Airtell ATN Ltd (Dublin), quality aspects
of communication software developed for the aeronautical telecommunications
network. My research interests are in the fields of Software Engineering and
Mathematical Modeling/Scientific Computing; a major short to medium term
objective is to expand my activity in applying these two fields to environmental
problems.
