MODSCI Seminar Series 2005 Logo

The logo consists of six horizontal and six vertical ellipses of equal semimajor axis (a). The ellipses are circumscribed by a circle of diameter 2a. A poetic interpretation of the logo follows: the six ellipses in each direction represent the six research areas of DCU's Modelling & Scientific Computing Group. These are:

• Agriculture & Environment
• Biocomputation
• Financial Modelling
• Parallel & Distributed Computing
• Pattern Matching & Visualisation
• Traffic Flow Analysis

The surrounding circle represents the Modelling & Scientific Computing Group. The logo was produced using simple VB and GnuPlot scripts.
