Lesson 6 tunalku wan xupan (Summer and winter - the weather)

Key Language
peyna tutunik?	Is it hot early (i.e. in the morning)? "peyna" is "early" and "tutunik" is hot
tahkutunal kuniki tutunik	It's hot at mid-day "tahkutunal" is mid-day. "kuniki" is then.
wan ka tiutak tutunik?	And what about the afternoon? "tiutak" is "the afternoon"
ne tunalku	the summer
tik ne xupan wezi at	In the winter it rains "xupan" means "winter". "wezi at" means "to rain (literally "come" and "water"".

Key Language
tay hora tanesi?	When does the sun rise? "hora" comes from the Spanish for hour, "hora". "tanesi" is the verb "to dawn" (as in sun rise).
ciqasen, ... maqil	At six, ... at five "ciqasen" is "six" and "maqil" is five.
taywaki	sun set
maqil wan tahku	five thirty (5:30) "Tahku" means "half", giving five and a half.
ciqasen wan yey takutun	six forty (6:45) "yey takutun" means 45 minutes ("takutun" means "quarter")

Key Language
titaqa peyna?	Do you eat early? "qa" means "to eat", "ta" is used when the object is unknown (i.e. we don't know what or if anything is eaten), so "titaqa" means "you eat something".
niqa peyna sehsempa	I always eat early "niqa" means "I eat" (note: the "ta" disappears). "sehsempa" means always.
tiqa taywan iwan ne tahtamal?	Do you something with and tortillas? "taywan" means "something"

qak weli niqa wan qak te tesu	Sometimes ... "qak" is "when", "weli" is can so literally it means "When I can I eat and not when I can't".
tiqa inakayo tihlan peyna?	Do you eat chicken early? "inakayo" means "meat" and "tihlan" means "hen"
tesu keman	never
