Academic Qualifications
[2010] Ph.D., School of Computing, DCU. Thesis: Graph-based Pattern Matching and Discovery for Process-centric Service Architecture Design and Integration. [.rar].
[2004]
I obtained my Master degree in Electronic Engineering - specialisation: data netowrks - at the Electronic Department - UTFSM.
The master thesis (in Spanish) can be accessed here. It describes a new algorithm for multicast routing and a performance evaluation and comparison with other multicast routing algorithms.

[2003]
I obtained my first degree in Electronic Engineering - specialisation: Automatic Control -.
The degree project document in Spanish can be accessed here. It focused on the development of a framework for integrating advanced manufacturing techniques and tools into medium-size companies.
The project's proposal was empirically explored in a medium size company in Valparaiso, Chile.
Experience*
[2S/2005-2S/2006] I worked as an IT Architect in the Telecommunications and IT Department at CODELCO. My work focused on a strategy for migrating the current distributed enterprise-wide system architecture to a service oriented architecture.
[1S/2005] During one semester I left CODELCO to lecture at Valparaiso University (UV) The courses lectured were Systems Theory, Web Design and Development, and a Seminar on Information Technologies.
[2S/2003-2S/2004] I worked as an Enterprise Architect in the Telecommunications and IT Department at CODELCO (One of the world's biggest copper mining companies). My work was focused on the development of an enterprise architecture. Business process models, the enterprise-wide application architecture and related infrastructure were the main objective models.
* [1S: First Semester; 2S: Second Semester]
Undergraduate Work
[1S/2003 and earlier]
- I was involved in the formulation of projects for improvement of quality and equality of the Chilean tertiary education system, in the context of the MECESUP Program .
- I was one of the coordinators of the launching of Telematic Engineering at UTFSM, Chile.
- I was a teaching assistant for the following courses: probability and stochastic processes, Electronic Laboratory and Industrial Processes Laboratory.
- I was an assistant engineer at the Center for the Intergraded Manufacturing and Automation (CIMA). My first graduate final project was based on my work at CIMA.
- I worked for the National Foundation for the Elimination of Poverty giving networking support to governmental institutions in a small town in the south of Chile.
- I was a teaching assistant for the "Internet Educativa" Project funded by Telefonica S.A. The project's aim was to increment the knowledge of primary school teachers about Internet and its use in Schools.
- I was a laboratory assistant in the High Voltage Laboratory in the Electric Engineering Department at UTFSM and worked at RHONA S.A., energy distribution systems section.
