Yanjun Ma, B.A., M.A, PhD
Postdoctoral Researcher at CNGL, Dublin City University
| I am a Postdoctoral researcher of the Machine Translation Group at the Center for Next Generation Localisation (CNGL) in Dublin City University (DCU). I hold a PhD in Computing from the same University under the supervision of Prof. Andy Way. I also hold a M.A. in Computational Linguistics from Tsinghua University and a BA from Shandong University, China. My research mostly focuses on Machine Translation using a technology that is similar to Google Translate. |
| During my PhD, I mainly focused on statistical word alignment models for machine translation (see publications). As I am dealing with many languages during my study, I also spend some time learning new languages. Besides Chinese and English, I can also read Japanese after taking a one-year course in Tsinghua University. I am currently learning French with Alliance Française in Dublin. |
| From 2007 to 2009, I was on the EACL student board and co-organised EACL 2009 student workshop in Athens, Greece. I am a member of ACL and EAMT. |
