I am a fourth year PhD student of Computer Science at National Center for Language Technology , School of Computing , Dublin City University

I work on Statistical Machine Translation in Machine Translation Group under the supervision of Prof. Andy Way . I work closely with Dr. Sylwia Ozdowska and Dr. Nicolas Stroppa. I also work together with Dr. Mary Hearne, Dr. Patrik Lambert, Dr. Jinhua Du and Dr. Hany Hassan.

2009

Two papers accepted for publication in MT Summit in Ottawa, Canada. See publications.

I presented our paper entitled "Bilingually Motivated Domain-Adapted Word Segmentation for Statistical Machine Translation"on 2nd April 2009 at EACL 2009 in Athens. See publications.

We have just had a paper accepted by the 13th Annual Conference of the European Association for Machine Translation (EAMT 2009) to be held from May 14 to 15 in Barcelona, Spain.

I am attending a graduate training module on Intellectual Property and Commercialisation from March to April, 2009.

I gave a talk on efficient word alignment models at NCLT seminar series on March 4, 2009. See publication section for the slides.

I am on the program committee of ACL-IJCNLP 2009 held in Singapore on August 2-7, 2009.

I am visiting the Machine Intelligence Lab, University of Cambridge , working with Dr. Bill Byrne from January to February, 2009 and continue to be a collaborator until February, 2010.

2008

We have just had a paper accepted subject to minor revisions by ACM Transactions on Asian Language Information Processing (TALIP), Special Issue on Machine Translation of Asian Languages.

Paper accepted for presentation at EACL 2009 to be held on from March 30-April 3 2009 in Athens, Greece.

I am going to attend IWSLT 2008 to be held on October 20-21, 2008 in Honolulu, Hawaii, with our system description paper "Exploiting Alignment Techniques in MaTrEx: the DCU Machine Translation System for IWSLT 2008".

I am taking a 4-day training course from July 28 to July 31, 2008 on HPC, MPI and OpenMP, organised by ICHEC in Dublin City University this year.

I presented our paper entitled "Improving Word Alignment Using Syntactic Dependencies" at ACL08 SSST workshop on June 20, 2008 in Columbus, OH, USA.

I am co-organizing EACL 2009 Student Workshop to be held on Apirl 1-4, 2009 in Athens, Greece.

I have successfully transferred into PhD proper on April 18, 2008! Prof. Harold Somers, Prof. Josef van Genabith, Dr. Gareth Jones and Dr. Geoff Hamilton are the committee members.

We have a paper accepted by ACL 2008 Workshop on Syntax and Structure in Statistical Translation (ACL08-SSST) to be held on June 20, 2008, Columbus, OH, USA.

We submitted our MaTrEx system discription to ACL 2008 workshop on Statistical Machine Translation (ACL08-SMT) to be held on June 19, 2008 in Columbus, OH, USA.

2007

I am tutoring CA215 Language and Computability for 2007-2008 academic year.
