The final year students from the Schools of Computing and Electronic Engineering participated in a hugely successful event on Tuesday 31st May, in the Helix. The event, Expo 2011, gave these students the opportunity to showcase the work they had completed for their final year project (FYP) assignments and to demonstrate their achievements to invited corporate guests from the ICT sector.
It started at 8.00am with a breakfast and short speeches from DCU President Prof. Brian McCraith, guest speaker Liam Ryan, Managing Director of SAP Ireland and the two Heads of School, Prof. Mike Scott and Dr. Noel Murphy. Over 200 guests from many of the top ICT companies arrived with great enthusiasm and eagerness to meet the students. James Flynn and Brendan Murray of IBM Ireland announced Graham Rhodes, 4th Year student from the BSc. in Computer Applications as the winner of a high spec laptop for the best use of Opensource in his project.
