Job description
We are currently seeking IT graduates to join our Product Research and Development team in June 2012 as Software Engineers.
Working as a Graduate in FINEOS provides an excellent opportunity for you to acquire practical, real-world software engineering experience. You will be working in one of the company’s technical teams. You will gain an understanding of how tools and technologies are combined with an effective software engineering process to produce products the meet market needs. This will help you to learn new skills and apply much of your college experience to a practical IT environment. FINEOS has a number of offices worldwide which includes Ireland, USA, Australia, New Zealand and Poland and offers graduates the opportunity to travel to these regions.

Typical tasks will include:
• Software development using OO principles, based on industry best practise
• Understanding and manipulating the data model at a database level
• Software development using database manipulation languages, based on industry best practice.
• Production of quality documentation to support the design and development, build and release process
• Participating in the Quality Assurance function and assisting senior team members in end - to - end business process and solution testing
• As part of the project team - interacting with customers within and external to the organisation, to help define requirements and develop solutions

Suitable candidates will possess most of the following:
• Knowledge of web based java applications.
• Be undertaking a relevant third level qualification
Have knowledge in the following areas:
o The Java language
o J2EE development experience and associated technologies (JSP development, JDBC, JMS messaging, EJB)
o An understanding of Service Orientation and associated technologies SOAP, WS-* standards
o XML related technologies
o Relational databases (ORACLE, DB2 or SQL Server)
o Tomcat, Websphere or Weblogic experience would be an advantage
• A commitment to working within a team, and a focus on enhancing team effectiveness
